Aurora over Loch Lomond

A friend who we shared a wonderful cruise with sent me a photo taken by a neighbour of their son on 1st February near Loch Lomond. Thank you Michael -

Just goes to show that we can get some great views of the Aurora from the UK. The faint red light above the green is linked with oxygen at 300+ km above the Earth. The green light is again caused by oxygen between 100 and 300 km above the Earth.
